GRACE HAS A FACE
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Grace is not just some characteristic of God, but grace took on human flesh and became a body. He lowered himself and emptied himself so that the “logos” of God ( the speech of a God) became flesh and dwelt among us. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, He became poor for our sake, that through His poverty, we might be made rich. The Word that was always there in eternity past became flesh. The grace of God in the heavens came down to us and became personified in the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace became something we could see, feel, touch, and grab onto- Grace has a Face! Grace- the sovereign work of God doing for us what we can not do for ourselves. Grace, the unmerited favor of God, had now became something we could attain because when we couldn’t get to grace, grace came to us! If grace never got a face then we would of all men be most miserable. We would be destined to our eternal wages of eternal fire, all the while knowing about the grace of God but never being able to grab hold of it. Thank God when we couldn’t reach up to grace, grace reached down to us. Thank God we don’t just have to read or hear about Gods grace, but we can behold it with our own eyes. We can say as they did in Antioch , I have seen the grace of God” Yes, Grace became a face ! So humble yourself today and behold the grace of His glorious face!
