A TWO- EDGED SWORD⚔️
              Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword….

One of the most remarkable and fascinating features of the Word of God is the fact that it is a two-edged sword. Oh how wonderful a truth, for the word of God will cut no matter which way you swing it! But it goes even deeper than that. Look at Issac who experienced this truth when he went up Mt. Moriah with his father Abraham. He carried the wood while his father carried a knife (sword). At the top of that mountain, Isaac was bound by ropes and laid upon the altar by his own father. Abraham reached back the knife over his head to thrust it into his beloved son. Just at the time he was about to come down with the knife, God said “Abraham, lay not your hand on the lad” and Abraham looked and saw a sacrifice had been given in Isaac’s stead. Can you imagine when Abraham came to his son and he was still bound by the ropes, he pulled out that same knife and cut him free. In other words dear friend, the same knife that condemned him, was the same knife that cut him free. Hallelujah! The same Word that convicts also acquits. The same Word that brings death, also brings life. The same Word that defeats, is the same Word that conquers. The same Word that brings judgment, also brings grace! 🙌How could there be such a contrast? How could there ever be such a sword? We must look to the blacksmith who forged it in a furnace called Calvary. For out of His mouth does this sword prevail. (Rev 1:16) It is the sacrifice that makes the double edge, for without the sacrifice, Isaac would have stayed condemned and would have been slain. If there is no Lamb of God who dies in our place on the cross of Calvary- the sword would be single edged. Oh but how wonderful and glorious, because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the sword is now two edged. The same word that condemns is now the same word that acquits and the same Word that is the law is now also the Word of love. The same Word that brings judgment is now the Word that brings grace. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God who carries and gives us a two-edged sword!⚔️
