Dear Kenwood Baptist Church family,
The following is for all of our church about what we are doing to minister in the midst of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind,” 2 Timothy 1:7. As pastor of KBC, I love you and want you to stay healthy, in body and soul. For such a time as this, we must know God is in control and we can’t even stub our toe without God’s consent. He is our Sovereign, our Shelter, our Shepherd, our Savior, our Strength, our Shield, our Strong-tower, and our Shalom. Where sin abounds, His grace abounds much more! While we know God’s grace is sufficient, we must also act responsibly and safely within the free will God allows us. In order to keep our gatherings more sanitary, we are taking the following actions to make your church attendance safer.
• We will have a custodian on duty, sanitizing door handles, bathrooms and other high touch areas during Sunday and Wednesday activities.
• We will suspend hand shaking and hand holding in worship. Greet each other with a wave and a big smile.
Here’s what you can do:
• If you are sick, have had a fever within the past 24 hours, or if you feel you are contagious, please stay home.
• Cough or sneeze with a tissue (or into your elbow), then throw the tissue in the trash.
All of this is using our “sound mind” to help our church and our community be a safer, healthier place to worship God. Let us unite together during this time. It is high time for us to awake out of sleep and not allow the fear of the world disrupt our assembly and worship. Do you think the early church would not still assemble and worship? God forbid- Greater is He in us than he who is in the world! Let’s come together in Jesus name and He will be in the midst of us. We understand that our most fragile members may need to stay home for a few weeks. We trust that you will follow your own judgment regarding your own personal health. We will try to stay in touch with you the best we can. Remember that our services are live streamed on our church website and on Facebook for those that want to join us remotely.
