And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. – Mark 16:20

How much must we work for Jesus in order to repay Him? How much retribution must we account for to even begin to compensate for all that He has done, is doing, and will do for us? How much do we owe Jesus? The number is staggering! Are you ready for it! ZERO! We owe Him nothing. And that’s the point! This is the gospel! This is the epitome of grace upon grace. This is the life altering shift from religion to relationship. From what we prompt to what He promises. It’s quite literally what He died for. Do not frustrate that grace. We are not indebted to Christ, but rather we are indwelled by Christ! Big difference! My very best is filthy to Him, and everything I am now is not only due to Him, but it is done by Him! Look at the text… (this is after Jesus has ascended into Heaven) and it says Jesus is working “with them”. Brothers and sisters, we are what we are by His grace alone. It is Christ who lives in us! It is He who works on our behalf. We are created for His workmanship. It’s His power. His discernment. His wisdom. His heart. His Word. His strength. His will. His work. And He works with us! With us! He works in us! He works for us! Religion is dead because it is dead men attempting to work for Jesus. It’s a form of godliness but denies the power. What is the power you ask? Relationship WITH Jesus! And a gospel-rooted relationship relinquishes the withering hand of man for the mighty hand of God Himself! Quit working for Jesus and let Him work for you! Jesus died not for the monotonous, religious motion FROM you but instead for a living relationship WITH you. Tis Christianity. Don’t settle for the counterfeit. Jesus is in us! Working with us! Believe in Him! Cling to Him! Be conformed into Him! By Jesus! With Jesus!

“We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. – 2 Cor 6:1”
