Welcome back and Happy Tuesday my friends.
Did you take a moment to reflect on Job.
Did you see when tragic events happen with people when they engage in endless wondering like Job and his three friends Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathie and the young lad Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite.
Now add in our modem day technologies, our media and think about your distractions. We are being pulled in all different directions with ideologies and concepts. Opinions which tell us only one has to be right, righter, and not wrong. Tolerate me but I dont have to tolerate you.
And this is where I come today with Job.
No matter how long it took from Chapter 1 to 37 and what events were:
God is there to step in and set the truth.
Job 38:1 Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind…… Stop there. God is there for you….even in Chapter 38.
Now see how did he appear? Out of a whirlwind.
A whirlwind in the Hebrew Sah’-ar whirlwind -means a hurricane.
So to put it bluntly, God didn’t excuse himself politely to this jump in on this conversation.
It’s interesting because a hurricane usually comes with warning, advanced notice, something you should pay attention too.
Guess what, you’re not evacuating the voice of God.
The voice of God will cause an action, a reaction and grabs your attention my friend. Even Adam and Eve heard the voice coming.
Lookback: Gensis 3:8 ……… And they heard the voice of Yahweh Elohim walking in the garden in the cool of the day; and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Yahweh Elohim amongst the trees of the garden.
Whether the voice of the Lord is storming in or walking in; its not there to blow you away, but to counsel -instruct you and set truth over matters before you.
Read what the Lord says next…. Job 38: 2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
Pay attention God’s is going to speak.
God begins his testimony with first hand knowledge and truth. His account. God’s very own testimony. Read along for the next two chapters Job 38 and 39. In the form of 51 point specific questions God tells us about His creation, it’s obedience, its understanding of the creator and ordinances.
The only way it can be. By the very one who knows how it was established.
God reminds us here in this text whose foundation your standing on. Whose direction your under. How one should dwell and abide.
Its hard to check in on that when the distraction get ahold of you. But God will always be there for you from a slow walk to a whirlwind. He said so.
Check in on Wednesday as we continue our study with how Job heard God and answers him next in Chapter 40: 1-5
