LOVE IS THE BOND OF PEACE
“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
The great Martin Luther King Jr said, “We must meet hate with love!”
I thought about the hostility in our world, the conflicts between neighbors, even the angry situations in our streets, division in our churches, schisms in our homes and thought where do we go from here? How do we have peace? How do we even begin to endeavor for unity? There is only one answer for the bond of peace— LOVE! (V2). We must not render evil for evil, but rather esteem and forgive others in lowliness of mind, for this is the mind of Christ. O dear friend let this mind be in you. Evil and darkness has only been and only will be conquered by love. Love wins the war every time. The love of Christ demonstrated on that cross, the forbearance and humility is when righteousness and peace have kissed each other. (Psalms 85:10 ) Love is the bond of peace and is the only thing that will bring unity! For God so loved the world while we were yet sinners. While we mocked and crucified Him, He loves us. He shouted Father forgive them while He was in his deepest agony. May we demonstrate the love of God to bring glory to the Father. This is only possible by the Spirit that cries out within us. So pick up your cross and follow Jesus today for without love you can do nothing.
