“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire;.. -Jude 1:23

On January 27, 1903 a horrific fire broke out at an insane asylum in London England. The fire consumed 50 men, but 250 men were literally pulled out of the fire and saved from its consuming flame. The patients and prisoners of this asylum were in chains alienated form the hope and safety around them. They had no idea the fire was rapidly approaching and even when the reality of its burn got near to their face, they had no way of escaping in their own power. Someone from the outside had to “pull them out of the fire”! Can’t you hear some of the people on the outside who were already saved when news of the fire broke out? One man probably said, “Im tired, let me stay in my slumber.” Another man thought it was just a joke and nothing to really worry about. Another man most likely said, “we’ll it’s just an insane asylum- they probably deserve to burn”. Or perhaps another said, “I’m too busy right now.” But thank God for the men who had the compassion of Jesus, making a difference and put everything else aside for the main task and purpose at hand – Pulling men out of the fire! How shall they get out, unless they are pulled out? How shall they hear without a preacher? How shall they have the faith to escape eternity’s fire unless the Word of God is shared with them? Oh friend- may we who are saved blow the trumpet of God’s gospel so men will escape the eternal flames of hell. Be not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation. Sharing the gospel is what pulls men out of the fire. This is the most paramount purpose of Christians today- to seek and to save that which is lost. Look around you today – God has placed some prisoners of an insane asylum around you- will you pull them out?
