“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:2

As Jesus endured the cross, he became acquainted with our grief and took our sorrows. He was despised and rejected, a Lamb led to the slaughter. He would not open His mouth but willingly laid down His life, despising the shame. All the physical pain Jesus suffered is unimaginable, but above all, one of the most painful things Jesus had to endure was watching his own friends and disciples forsake Him. He had to endure the pain of having all the people He invested his life into walk away and leave Him hanging. Where was blind Bartimaeus or the woman with the issue of blood? Where were the lepers or the impotent man He healed? Where was the demoniac man He made whole or the woman He cast devils out of? Where was Zacheus or Lazarus? Where was Peter, Thomas or Matthew? They all left Him hanging! But when all of the men He loved so dearly left Him hanging, there was a Father in heaven who did not leave Him hanging, He set Him down at His right hand. Thank God for His faithfulness. He knows who you are, where you are, and what you’re going through. You may be enduring some heartache, struggle, or storm in your life right now. You may be carrying your cross and facing all kinds of rejection and forsaking, but child of God lift up your head. There is a Father in heaven who will never ever leave you hanging. Listen to His promise- “I will never leave you or forsake you. Lo, I am with you always, even to the ends of the earth.” Be sure to endure your cross today and continue to keep the faith because our God will show up right on time, every time- He will not leave you hanging!
