It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.”
Proverbs 25:27

When I was a young boy and we would go to my grandmothers house to eat, she would have a table spread of the finest food. And sometimes, while she was preparing her lavish meal, my cousins and I would raid her pantry of snacks. She would stop us with her gazing eyes and say, “ Don’t eat that, it will ruin your appetite”.
The greatest need for this hour are Christians with an appetite . Unfortunately we have allowed the devil to satiate our hunger and slate our thirst with the delicacies of this world. Our gracious God has invited us to eat at His table to eat the finest delicacies, but we are not hungry. May the words of Jesus reverberate in our heart- “ blessed are those who hunger and thirst, for they shall be filled with righteousness.” Oh dear friends, we can not be filled, until we first hunger. The blessing is not in the filling, the blessing is in the hunger. The filling is just a benefit  of the hunger and thirst. So may we learn that God can supply all our needs through Christ Jesus our Lord, but we must come hungry. The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and violent men take it by force. A hungry man will take the kingdom, but we don’t come hungry because we are so full of this world. Our Holy God can fill us up with the bread from His table, so why eat the things of this world when He is offering His Word. As Job said, “I esteem His Word more than my necessary food.” Remember, man can not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of His mouth. Why eat Satan’s lies when He has a table full of truth? Why eat a happy meal when God’s offering you fried turkey? God has a table of grace, mercy, joy, peace, love and much more. Stop eating junk food and eat from God’s table. As in the words of my late grandmother,” Don’t eat that, it will ruin your appetite.”
