Jeremiah 17:8 KJV
[8] For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

4. Trees have roots

The root system of a tree performs many vital functions. In winter, it is a store-house for essential food reserves needed by the tree to produce spring foliage. Roots absorb and transport water and minerals from the soil to the rest of the tree. Roots also anchor the portion of the tree above ground.

As a Christian our roots like the tree roots ought to also be a store house for the word of God : Psalm 119:11 KJV
[11] Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
To remind us daily that we need the word of God, to keep us from sinning against God . Which in return will help us to produce new leaves or we could say that it will produce new Christians by letting others see the goodness of God through us by ; transporting those essential nutrients (the living water) to others ,that they may have eternal life in Jesus .
We have used our spiritual roots and absorbed the word and transported it to a a dry and thirsty world .
The tree roots also keep the tree anchored firmly in the ground so that it can stand in the storms that it will face.
1 Corinthians 16:13 KJV
[13] Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Nahum 1:7 KJV
[7] The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

If we are rooted in the word we can be strong Christians during troubled times we can be like a tree planted by the water in good soil and withstand those days of trouble.
Spread your roots out wide and let them run deep in the Love of Jesus today !!
God bless everyone
